Executive Head of Compliance – CPT

Our client is a leading asset manager that believes in the power of collaboration and innovation. This is a multi-jurisdictional role that covers South Africa, Africa, and Jersey. As the Executive Head of Compliance, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the organisation maintains the highest standards of regulatory compliance and governance.

Responsibilities:

  • Represent the Asset Management company in various governance structures and committees, including Board Committee Meetings, Group Executive Meetings, Regulatory Meetings, and Industry Body meetings.
  • Lead and direct a team of compliance professionals across various levels, ensuring the implementation and execution of strategic imperatives.
  • Obtain board approval for compliance monitoring activities and oversee their implementation by the company’s compliance function.
  • Develop and implement a holistic compliance strategy that aligns with the business strategy, taking into account global regulatory trends and accommodating the unique nuances of different business units.
  • Provide guidance, advisory, and business support on complex compliance matters related to strategic initiatives, ensuring that strategic objectives adhere to compliance standards.
  • Ensure that the compliance function remains a vital business enablement instrument, fostering a compliance-centric culture throughout the organisation.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in the Asset Management industry, with a strong understanding of regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
  • At least 4 years of senior management experience, demonstrating leadership and the ability to drive compliance initiatives.
  • CAT 1, 11, III.
  • Minimum of a Master’s Degree, MBA, or equivalent qualification, demonstrating a strong academic background.
  • C PRAC (SA) (Compliance Practitioner Southern Africa) certification is required.
