Executive CFO – CPT

With a strong commitment to delivering exceptional value to its customers and shareholders, our client is seeking a highly experienced and strategic CFO to join its executive team and contribute to its continued growth and success. Leading the finance function, the CFO will provide strategic business partnering, drive acquisitions, and ensure effective financial management to support the organisation’s objectives. The ideal candidate will possess a strong track record of strategic financial leadership, experience within consumer-related industries, and a proven ability to drive results in a listed company environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Providing strategic financial guidance and partnering with the executive team to drive business growth, profitability, and acquisitions.
  • Overseeing financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting to ensure accurate and timely reporting.
  • Leading a strong finance team and implementing best practices and efficient processes.
  • Developing and maintaining strong relationships with stakeholders, including investors, analysts, and regulatory bodies.
  • Driving investor relations initiatives and ensuring effective communication with shareholders.
  • Contributing to mergers and acquisitions activities, leveraging extensive experience in this area.
  • Identifying and evaluating acquisition opportunities aligned with the company’s growth strategy.
  • Leading due diligence efforts for potential acquisitions and ensuring successful integration post-transaction.
  • Monitoring financial performance, identifying risks, and developing mitigation strategies.
  • Providing leadership in managing capital allocation, financial risk management, and treasury activities.
  • Staying updated on industry trends, regulations, and market conditions to anticipate and respond to potential challenges and opportunities.

 

Ideal Profile and Experience:

  • 18 – 20 years of executive Finance experience with a minimum of 10 years in a management role.
  • Chartered Accountant / MBA.
  • The ideal candidate will have prior CFO experience with a proven track record of strategic business partnering and driving successful acquisitions.
  • They will possess leadership experience within consumer-related industries, such as retail, mobile telecommunications, or consumer financial services.
  • Experience in a listed company environment, with a strong understanding of regulatory requirements, is essential.
  • Strong commercial acumen with the ability to analyze and interpret financial data to drive business decisions.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills, including the ability to build relationships with investors, analysts, and board members.
  • Experience in investor relations and effective communication with shareholders.
  • Preference for an Employment Equity (EE) candidate, demonstrating a commitment to diversity and inclusion.
  • Experience in mergers and acquisitions, highlighting the ability to navigate complex transactions.
